Crompton's Antidegradant Chemicals

Crompton’s Uniroyal Chemical is one of the largest producers of rubber chemicals. Antidegradant chemicals include Naugard® antioxidants, Flexzone® antiozonants, and Sunproof® protective waxes. Antiozonants protect rubber compounds from cracking and deteriorating from exposure to ozone as well as providing resistance to oxygen and heat. Antiozonants
The Flexzone antiozonants protect car and truck tires against cracking due to ozone attack. Many industrial rubber goods can also benefit from the use of the Flexzone antiozonants where the discoloration and staining of these products is acceptable. The Flexzone antiozonants also provide outstanding resistance to flex fatigue. Durazone® 37 is non-staining antiozanant and so can be used in applications where the discoloration of painted surfaces in contact with the rubber part must be avoided.

Protective Waxes
The Sunproof protective waxes provide static ozone protection under the widest range of weather conditions. Protective waxes are often used in combination with the Flexzone antiozonants to provide both dynamic protection in use and static protection at rest. The Sunproof protective waxes are completely non-discoloring and will prevent “frosting”, a grey to white discoloration due to microscopic weather cracking, which is especially prevalent during the summer months when ozone concentrations are highest.

Antioxidants for Rubber
