Crompton PVC Stabilizers -- Tin Heat Stabilizers, Organic Based Stabilizers (OBS), and Phosphite and Epoxy Co-Stabilizers
Crompton Vinyl Additives is the world's largest producer of PVC stabilizers including the following types of heat stabilizers; tin (organotin) stabilizers, mixed metal stabilizers, organic based stabilizers (OBS), and metal free heat stabilizers. Organo phosphite and epoxy co-stabilizers are offered to compliment this line of heat stabilizers.
Tin Stabilizers (Organotin Stabilizers)
Crompton Vinyl Additives offers a broad line of MARK tin (organotin) stabilizers including butyl tin, octyl tin and methyl tin mercaptides, and butyl tin carboxylate and octyl tin maleate heat stabilizers for use in rigid, flexible and plasitcized PVC. Heat stabilizers meeting FDA food contact regulations are included in the line. Organo tin stabilizers provide protection during calendering, extrusion and injection molding of rigid PVC. Further tin stabilizers provide good initial color, and good long term heat stability.

Organic Based Stabilizers (OBS)
Crompton's metal free, organic based stabilizers (OBS) are a new generation of stabilizers developed for PVC pipe and fitting applications. Based on a patented organic molecule with unique properties, they are completely heavy metal free. Organic based stabilizers (OBS) offer a broad processing window, excellent process stability and are odor-free, even under processing conditions. Systems using organic based stabilizers (OBS) can be processed on all existing extrusion and injection molding equipment. Several organic based stabilizers (OBS) grades are approved for indirect food contact (BgVV, SCF) and are suitable for drinking water applications.

Mixed Metal Stabilizers
Crompton line of non-tin, MARK mixed metal stabilizers includes zinc, calcium/zinc, magnesium/zinc, barium/zinc, and barium/calcium/zinc heat stabilizers.
MARK calcium/zinc heat stabilizers are non-toxic stabilizers for use in rigid, semi-rigid, flexible, plasitcized PVC compounds as well as plastisol processing. Grades meeting FDA requirements for food contact are available.
MARK magnesium/zinc heat stabilizers can be used in many flexible and rigid PVC compounds as substitutes for barium/cadmium materials.
MARK barium/zinc heat stabilizers can be used in many PVC compounds as substitutes for cadmium containing stabilizers. MARK Barium/Zinc and Calcium/Zinc heat stabilizers can be used in wire and cable jacket compounds as a substitute for lead containing stabilizers.
