Crompton EPDM Products - Royaledge, Royalene, Royaltherm, Trilene & Silicon Modified EPDM
Royalene EPDM rubber, RoyalEdge EPDM rubber, Royaltherm silicone-modified
EPDM, and Trilene liquid EPDM and EPM polymers are used in
automotive, construction, wire & cable, and industrial
applications. We began as the U.S. Rubber Company in 1892.
As Uniroyal Chemical, we started producing Royalene EPDM in
1965. Crompton is the number one manufacturer of EPDM in North
America and the third largest producer worldwide. Royalene
EPDM, RoyalEdge EPDM and Royaltherm silicone-modified EPDM
are manufactured in the largest EPDM plant in the world, having
three dedicated operating lines.
Royalene EPDM and RoyalEdge EPDM
Royalene and RoyalEdge EPDM products are terpolymers of ethylene,
propylene and a non-conjugated diene (ENB or DCPD). Royalene
EPDM polymers vary in viscosity, ethylene/propylene ratio,
and type and amount of diene. These factors affect the processability
and end properties of the EPDM formulation.
When a single traditional EPDM polymer will not meet your
needs, RoyalEdge EPDM, with controlled compositional distribution,
is capable of meeting the most diverse property requirements.
RoyalEdge 4191P and RoyalEdge 4345 are used in medium to high
voltage insulation applications such as molded electrical
components and extruded automotive ignition wire. RoyalEdge
4316 is used in applications where cured sponge surfaces are
required such as automotive dual durometer sponge extrusions,
closed cell sponge profiles and dense extruded profiles.

Royaltherm Silicone-Modified EPDM
If your application needs to operate at extreme temperatures,
Royaltherm, a silicone-modified EPDM high-performance elastomer,
will excel. Royaltherm Silicone Modified EPDMs are modified
EPDMs with a special silicone rubber. Royaltherm is supplied
as a base compound that can be vulcanized with peroxides or
sulfur/accelerator systems. Royaltherm offers improved heat
resistance vs. EPDM and improved physical properties vs. silicone
rubber. Because of its silicone nature, Royaltherm compounds
generally have superior release characteristics compared to
EPDM compounds.

Trilene EPDM and Trilene EPM
TRILENE liquid polymers are copolymers (EPM) of ethylene and
propylene,or terpolymers (EPDM) which also contain either
ethylidene norbornene (ENB) or dicyclopentadiene (DCPD).
TRILENE liquid polymers are used in coatings, adhesives,
and as an additive to improve properties and processing of
higher molecular weight polymers. Trilene 77 is a solid, high
ethylene EPDM with low molecular weight, used as a reactive
plasticizer and process aid in many rubber applications.
