Crompton Refined Products Ink Oils and Cable Filling Compounds
Crompton’s Witco Refined Products business provides
ink oils and cable-filling compounds. Witcogel cable compounds
include gel-based ETPR cable-filling compounds, petroleum-based
(PE/PJ) cable-filling compounds, and both natural and polymer-based
flooding (FC) compounds. Ink oils include the Witsol line
of distillate and highly refined ink oils.
Cable Filling Compounds
Crompton Corporation manufactures a complete line of cable-filling
and flooding compounds for the copper core and fiber optic
cable industry. As one of the world's largest producers of
cable compounds for the telecommunications industry, we manufacture
Witco gel-based (ETPR) cable-filling compounds, petrolatum-based
(PE/PJ) cable-filling compounds, and both natural and polymer-based
flooding compounds (FC). The Witcogel line has the highest
quality cable compounds in the telecommunications industry,
complying with standards set by telephone companies, regulatory

Cable Compound Products
Ink Oils
Witsol ink oils are a line of hydrocarbon solvents used primarily
in the ink industry. The Witsol ink oil product line consists
of both straight run distillates and severely hydrotreated
distillates. The staight run distillate ink oils provide value,
controlled volatility and good solvency. The severely hydrotreated
ink oils have been processed to remove virtually all aromatic
and olefinic hydrocarbons, yielding highly refined aliphatic
petroleum solvents. These highly refined ink oils are clear,
colorless, odorless, and very chemically stable. They are
used primarily where stringent emission regulations, misting
on the press, and objectionable smoke and odors need to be
reduced substantially or eliminated completely.
